WE MAKE YOUR CLOTHES

We Make Your Clothes, a docuseries, reveals a radical experiment deep in Appalachia, where one woman’s mission to restart American manufacturing becomes a region’s lifeline—challenging everything we think we know about labor, identity, and the power of making.

Switchgrass Film Lab 2023

Our mission: to provide a filmmaking education that positions youth for self-expression, leadership, and community building in the world they want to belong to.

From building compositions with Foley and place-based sound under the guidance of Terry Dame, to learning camera movement while creating 2D and 3D animation, and finally to last year’s place-based filmmaking on a 14,000-acre nature conservancy featuring diverse prairie ecosystems, Switchgrass is excited to enter its fifth year in Akron, Colorado.

Switchgrass Film Lab 2022

Teen participants receive creative prompts and filmmaking objectives while crewing together in the field abd then editing their films during the final workshop days. The completed short, cross-genre films represent the world as participants see it and culminate in a community screening at the Yuma movie theater.

A heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, The Somers Foundation and The de Groot Foundation, in memory of Tim Stulp.

Aje (narrative series)

Sailing across the seagrass plains

AJE is a dramatic fantasy series connecting a bloodline of women over 200 years, starting with the last so-called "Indian War" and ending in the apocalypse of 2090. Natane, a Native American teenager, is led to preserve the bodies of her ancestors and extract the missing narratives of the brutal high plains town of Aje. Each episode focuses on a different decade, with a finale surrendering to time as we know it.

VERAL: a Neo-Gothic horror short

VERAL

VERAL is a neo-Gothic horror short that screened at 15 festivals in 2021-22 and broadcast on public television in NYC, 2024.

On the High Plains, a city-slicker journalist meets a mysterious girl who leads him through her museum of preserved townies. "No pictures," she warns. Breaking the rules may cost him more than his deadline.

This video shows our process from live-action greenscreen to our 1:6 diorama shoot and how we integrated the two shoots through visual effects for the final movie.
