VERAL
VERAL is a neo-Gothic horror short that screened at 15 festivals in 2021-22 and broadcast on public television in NYC, 2024.
On the High Plains, a city-slicker journalist meets a mysterious girl who leads him through her museum of preserved townies. "No pictures," she warns. Breaking the rules may cost him more than his deadline.

This video shows our process from live-action greenscreen to our 1:6 diorama shoot and how we integrated the two shoots through visual effects for the final movie.

I recently completed a shoot in Angola, Africa, filming a music and cultural exchange between The Eleanor Dubinsky Quartet and local Angolan musicians. The project included visits to four schools and art institutes, attendance at the International Jazz Day Concert, and participation in rehearsals, jam sessions, and performances. Below is a short excerpt from the long-form documentary featuring one of the schools we visited, Casa da Cultura do Rangel "Njinga Mbande.” Funded by African Regional Services and the State Department.

Switchgrass Film Lab
The third annual Switchgrass filmmaking workshop was a resounding success. Using real and virtual cameras within animation software, participants explored animation techniques, including x, y, and z axes in 2D and 3D movement, lenses, and shot sizes. They also delved into subtext and poetry through visual storytelling. The workshop concluded with a screening at our beloved hometown movie theater in Yuma, Colorado.
Congratulations to all the filmmakers! We look forward to seeing you in the summer of 2025 at our new host location, Fox Ranch, a 14,000-acre nature conservancy featuring diverse ecological prairie land.

STEP documentaries
Seth Boyden Elementary School responded to the pandemic by embracing STEP dancing. Over the past four years, with support from the PTA, I have produced and edited four short documentaries showcasing the evolution of STEP culture within the student body.

AJE is a dramatic fantasy series connecting a bloodline of women over 200 years, starting with the last so-called "Indian War" and ending in the apocalypse of 2090. Natane, a Native American teenager, is led to preserve the bodies of her ancestors and extract the missing narratives of the brutal high plains town of Aje. Each episode focuses on a different decade, with a finale surrendering to time as we know it.
Long-time collaborator Erin Greenwell and I visited the Alma Creative Residency at Prairie Futures in Joes, CO. We finished writing a pilot and traversed the high plains with our Super 8 camera, capturing a mood reel for the series, AJE. Stills and excerpts are published in The Prairie Futures Journal 2024.
We are building our writing room and getting ready for pitches.
